Why The Bradley Method?

Physical Training - Training for an event takes time and the human body takes time to prepare for birth.

Confidence - Attitude and habits take 3 months to change. The natural process of birth is foreign to most people. It takes time to understand the process, and have confidence that it works.

Practice - Rehearse, rehearse, rehearse! The more a couple rehearses, the better they get.

Nutrition - The key to a healthy pregnancy is good nutrition every day.

Relaxation - The key to labor is relaxation. The body works best when the mother is relaxed. Relaxation techniques are taught and practiced in every class.

Education - Not knowing what to expect in child birth can cause fear and anxiety. Each class includes in-person instruction, discussion, videos, and birth stories to ensure parents are prepared and informed.

Preparation - Getting ready for birth takes time and effort. Dr. Bradley likens birth to an athletic event. You wouldn't run a marathon without preparing for it.

Coach training - Most fathers desire to participate in child birth but don't know how. Much of class is directed at preparing the labor coach to be attentive advocates for the mother. Dr. Bradley was fond of saying, "a husband should be man enough to finish what he starts!"
